How Hyperbaric Wellness Works

A plain-English look at what a mild hyperbaric chamber is, what a session feels like, and how people fit it into a wellness routine at home.

What it is

A portable, or “mild,” hyperbaric chamber is a comfortable, enclosed space that gently raises the air pressure around you while you rest inside. OxyNova's chambers operate in the 1.3–1.4 ATA range — a mild increase over the normal pressure you feel every day.

People use them as part of a personal recovery and relaxation routine. They are wellness products for general use — not medical devices, and not a treatment for any condition.

What a session is like

You unzip the chamber, settle in with a pillow or a book or your phone, and the unit gently pressurizes over a few minutes. Sessions are calm and quiet — many people simply rest, read, or nap. When you're done, the chamber depressurizes and you step out.

Simple, one-person setup

The chambers inflate and pressurize from a single quiet pump and run on a standard household outlet. They're light enough to move and store, and most people are comfortable operating them solo after the first try.

How people use it

  • As a recovery ritual after training, travel, or a demanding week
  • As a quiet, screen-optional half hour built into a longevity or wellness routine
  • As a shared space (on the larger 8 and 9 models) for two

Is it safe and easy?

OxyNova chambers include dual pressure-relief safety valves, filtered airflow, interior and exterior gauges, and clear instructions. As with any new wellness practice, we always recommend checking with a qualified healthcare provider first — especially if you have a medical condition, ear or sinus issues, or any concern about enclosed spaces.
